LATIN NAME FOR AQUATIC HUMANOIDS?
I assume you're asking for a scientific name for a fictional water-dwelling humanoid creature, like a mermaid. What about Homopiscus aquarius?
Reply:Perhaps you are thinking of the "aquatic ape hypothesis".
It is a hypothesis put forward to explain why, compared with other apes, humans are almost hairless, have greasy skin, are prone to packing on the subcutaneous fat, and have a hooded nose that serves to prevent water from entering the nostrils, etc. Also, seafood could have been what caused humans to develop a larger brain.
No one has ever found any fossil evidence that aquatic humanoids or aquatic apes ever existed, so there is nothing to name.
Reply:If there were such a thing and it was relative to modern humans, it would probably be something like homo sapiens aquadomicilius (smart human water dweller) or homo sapiens piscus (smart human fish).
Reply:The Man From Atlantis. You mean to tell me he wasn't real, because I always wanted to see a women from Atlantis, and now I am led to believe they don't exist! WOW what a smack down to my day!
EDIT: We all may be living like this some day!!
