What european country uses its latin name, helvetia, on its stamps?

Switzerland. The official name of Switzerland is Confoederatio Helvetica (CH), also Latin. This is because there are 4 official languages and they don't want to give any particular one precedence, and it would be hard to write Suisse, Schweiz, Svizzera (and whatever the name is in Romansch) on a little postage stamp.

That's Switzerland. I remember from my youth of stamp collecting. I used to get confused by all the strange names, like Um-Al-Qiyamm!! Never did find out where that was but I assumed it was a UAE. Cheers
Reply:Definitely Switzerland.
