What is a cello is there a latin name for it ?
The real name for a cello is violincelle, sometimes spelled violincello, but people have shortened it over the years to just "cello." Sorry this wasn't very detailed, that's all I know.
Reply:It's actually 'violoncello' that's the full name of a cello.





'Violoncello' is italian for 'little violone'. A violone is similar to a double bass. I'm not quite sure if there's a latin name.
